Nach mehr als 5 Monaten hat das openHAB Projekt die Version 2.3, für die gleichnamige Hausautomatisierungslösung, veröffentlicht. Das mit Java entwickelte Serversystem ist seit 2010 auf den Markt und wird inzwischen von einer aktiven Gemeinschaft vorangetrieben. openHAB ist herstellerunabhängige und setzt auf auf viele übliche Protokolle.
openHAB 2.3 bringt viele Verbesserungen und Neuerungen, behebt aber auch einige Fehler im Core als auch in den Add-Ons.
Eine weitere Neuerung ist die Übersetzung von openHAB und dem HABPanel sowie der Android App in viele weitere Sprachen.
Auch die Umrechnung von vielen Formel übernimmt openHAB und kann so z.B. Temperaturen von Grad Celsius in Farenheit und umgekehrt umrechnung. Das unabhängig vom Sensor und auch in Regeln mit mehreren unterschiedlichen Formel wie z.B. 23|°F + 82|°F + 302|K oder 5|m + 30|cm + 0.01|mi
In openHAB 2.3 wurden 25 neue Add-Ons aufgenommen. Auch hier geht die Entwicklung weiter und die Möglichkeiten viele unterschiedliche Geräte unter einer Oberfläche zu verwalten steigt. Das sehen auch innogy und tado so und lassen sich nun in openHAB integrieren.
Weiterhin können LaMetric Time als z.B. Feedback für z.B. Wetter, Meldungen und vielen weiteren Rückmeldungen verwendet werden.
Auch Amazon Echo kann als Gerät eingebunden und nun voll kontrolliert werden. Es kann als Media Playback, Text-to-Speech, Wetterinformationen oder zum Abfragen von Reports verwendet werden.
Bedeutend ist die Integration von KNX die seit 2010 läuft. KNX kann nun über die PaperUI konfiguriert und KNX Addressen wie Hersteller, Firmware IDs usw. können abgefragt werden.
openHAB ist nun zertifiziert zur Nutzung des Google Assistant Smart Home Action. Damit kann der myopenHAB Service mit dem Google Assistant verknüpft und per Stimme gesteuert werden. Ebenso können Alexa und MyCroft für die Sprachsteuerung verwendet werden.
