Oracle Virtual Box 6.0 veröffentlicht

Für die Open-Source Virtualisierung Virtual Box, wurde eine neue Hauptversion veröffentlicht. Die neue Version 6.0 führt 8 neue Features ein und behebt 25 Fehler. Virtualbox 6 steht für Windows, macOS, Linux und Solaris im Download bereit.

Mit dieser Version werden nur noch Host-Betriebssysteme unterstützt die auf 64-Bit basieren. Wer ein 32-Bit Hostsystem nutzen muss, der sollte bei Virtual Box 5.2 bleiben. Der Support von Oracle ist noch bis 2020. MacOS wird ab Version 10.12 Sierra supportet. Windows 7 wird ebenso unterstützt.

Mit dieser Version wurde auch die GUI / Oberfläche überarbeitet. Sie soll nun noch intuitiver und die Einrichtung von virtuellen Maschinen einfacher gestalten.

Neu ist auch der Dateimanager der nun Dateien zwischen Gast- und Hostsystem einfacher austauschen und kontrollieren lässt. 3D-Grafik wird im Gastsystem Windows, LInux und Solaris optimiert. Surroundsound mit Windows 1809 wird unterstützt. HiDPI-Monitore und Grafikskalierung wurde verbessert und der Kernel wurde auf Version 4.2 vorbereitet.
