oVirt 3.7.8 veröffentlicht

Die Open-Source Virtualisierungslösung oVirt, wurde vor kurzem in der Version 3.7.8 freigegeben. oVirt selbst ist eine Alternative für VMWare und vSphere und ermöglicht das Managment von KVM Virtualisierung in Multi-Node-Umgebungen. oVirt beinhaltet unter anderem libvirt, Gluster, PatternFly und Ansible.

Reason: For some users, security policy mandates that they maintain a “flat” DNS environment — no submains.

Result: This fix adds an option to add a suffix to master0 VM.

Example: If user sets ‘openshift_ovirt_machine_suffix’ to ‘prod’ and ‘public_hosted_zone’ is ‘example.com’, Then the metrics store vm will be called ‘master-prod0.example.com’.

• BZ 1727546 [RFE] Add cleanup option to oVirt metrics playbookFeature:

Add cleanup option to oVirt metrics playbook

Reason: User that desided to remove the metrics store requires disabling Collectd, Fluentd (if in 4.2) and setting Rsyslog to default settings or they will get errors for these services on all hosts and engine, once they delete the Metrics store VM.

Result: It is now possible to run playbook for handling the services: ./configure_ovirt_machines_for_metrics.sh –playbook=cleanup-ovirt-metrics.yml -vvv
